Our Story

Our Founder Allison O’Kelly had been forging a wonderful career path.  She was a CPA, a Harvard MBA and held high profile positions at KPMG and Toys "R" Us.

Then she had children.

She quickly found that the work-life blend she needed was unattainable in her corporate role, and started her own contract accounting practice. As her business grew, Allison couldn't handle all of the work herself and had no trouble finding CPAs who were looking for the same work-life satisfaction as she was and were happy to take on some of her work load.

"Over time I saw many women, mothers just like me, who wanted to stay in the workforce but didn't know how to find opportunities which would allow them to preserve symmetry in their lives," Allison said. "Because of this obstacle, many mothers leave the workforce altogether. At the same time, I noticed corporations were struggling to find high-caliber employees."

Her experiences gave her an idea: She would pioneer a movement to expand career opportunities to more individuals raising families, all while continuing to serve clients with excellence.

This is how Mom Corps was born.

Allison and her team know there is a wide pool of untapped resources among people raising families who can offer valuable knowledge and experience to companies. This is why they continue to work to fundamentally change the way companies fill their staffing needs.

And, in 2015 we added Corps Search and Corps Advisory to the Corps Team family!

As time went on, our clients realized that our approach was different.  We always take extra effort in determining the professional and personal needs of our candidates.  This approach helps our clients better retain the talent we recruit and place in their organizations.  As such, they began to ask us to help them find their full time talent as well.  In 2015, Corps Search was officially launched to meet our clients’ full time needs along with our training and consulting solution, Corps Advisory.  Now, all three of our solutions, Corps Search, Mom Corps and Corps Advisory are referred to as “Corps Team” - our newly formed parent company.

And, the story continues to evolve....
