Looking for a great opportunity to join a high energy, dynamic team of a private energy investment firm?

Our client is a private energy investment firm with a proven track record that acquires, operates, and improves upstream conventional oil and gas properties for institutional investors. Their business is both the management of the private energy funds and the operations of the oil and gas assets it owns.

They are seeking an experienced Division Order Analyst who also has Lease Records skills. Of particular focus will be preparation of divisions of interest and ownership issues as well as implementing changes in the use of Excalibur for maintaining decks and paying obligations. This position will report to the Land Manager as a part of our Land department. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Fully understand the division order, revenue, joint interest billing and lease records process.
  • Calculate divisions of interest and process changes in ownership based on leases, title documents and other instruments.
  • Research questions from owners concerning their interests in well/units and resolve revenue discrepancies.
  • Coordinate transfer of revenue decks to LDO module of Excalibur to expand our use Excalibur reports.
  • Monitor suspense, assist in locating owners, and prepare escheat reports as required by various States.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to make obligation payments through the lease records module of Excalibur.
  • Prepare spreadsheets of lease and contract data for data-upload.
  • Work special projects as assigned

Skills & Specifications

  • Thorough understanding of revenue payment and lease obligation functions in a Land Department.
  • Competent Excel and Word software skills.
  • Strong knowledge of terms in operating and unit agreements, spacing orders or agreements, communitization agreements, and other types of Land agreements.
  • Communicate well, verbally and in writing, with other departments and parties making inquiries.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Work well with others and with minimal requirements.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum of six years experience in a Division Order Analyst role
  • Use of Excalibur System a plus.
