“We consider Mom Corps part of our family”

Client Background

World Meeting of Families Philadelphia 2015 was a massive religious and historical event held in Philadelphia to celebrate the family unit, the sanctity of love and life. Held over the course of a week, the World Meeting included a variety of celebrations and events, the highlight of which was a visit from Pope Francis.

The Challenge

The culmination of three years of planning by their executive board and staff, the World Meeting of Families-Philadelphia required a massive coordination of resources, including federal and state government agencies, the Vatican, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, dozens of event coordinators, and over 10,000 volunteers.

Not surprisingly, the senior leadership needed a wide range of project-based personnel to support their team. While Danielle McNichol, their Director of HR and In-House Counsel, was solicited by nearly 40 staffing firms to supply those personnel, she reached out to Mom Corps at the recommendation of the board's president.

The Solution

Trista Wearing, Mom Corps Director of Talent Acquisition, was thrilled to have the opportunity to help. From the first phone call, Danielle was impressed with Trista's responsiveness and ability to address her complex challenges:

  • The Mom Corps team developed a clear understanding of Danielle's needs. We knew what a huge undertaking – and huge responsibility – planning and executing an event of this magnitude required, and we were confident in our ability to deliver.
  • Mom Corps didn't "throw resumes" at Danielle, like some other staffing firms did. Every candidate we referred was eminently qualified and well briefed on the event. For Danielle, it was just a matter of selecting the best-fit individual for each project.
  • Mom Corps quickly delivered the right resources (16 professionals in all) for a range of project management positions (including ticketing, visa applications, scholarship processing, database management and accounting projects) and administrative positions.
  • Once assigned, Danielle found that many of the project professionals were even more qualified than she realized – and wound up being even more valuable to her team than she had anticipated.

The Result

The World Meeting of Families Philadelphia 2015 was the largest and most successful one to date. Our project professionals played an indispensable role in planning and executing the event. In fact, Danielle was so impressed with the performance of our professionals that, once the project wrapped up, she and her team actively searched for new work opportunities for them.

"After working with Mom Corps and their project professionals, we consider them to be a part of our family. The attention, service and solutions I received from their internal staff, coupled with the exceptional quality of the talent they delivered, is second to none."

--Danielle McNichol, Director of HR and In-House Counsel
