Our client, a fast growing global firm located in North Dallas area is looking for an in-house Data Analytics Consultant who is an enthusiastic, data-driven individual who is passionate about digging into data to uncover valuable insights, solving complex problems and driving optimal decision-making. Has an affinity for solving problems and expert skills in data extraction, manipulation, and modeling. This person possesses excellent communication skills and strong ability to turn data into coherent, insightful business intelligence and actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate is able to explore and understand data and build advanced analytical models independently, then present and discuss the resulting models to any level of audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to gather and refine specific business problems and scenarios and document analytical solution requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation of technical requirements including use cases
  • Define the data requirements for specific business problems and Identify sources of data in consultation with stakeholders (e.g., in-house data store/warehouse, external data mart, etc.)
  • Identify and resolve data/information gaps for meeting business objectives/goals including data quality issues and sources (data feeds, the master data, etc.), and identify training and validation datasets as appropriate
  • Build multiple analytical models to solve specific business problems using commercial or open source toolsets
  • Work with stakeholders to establish minimum levels of performance criteria for model selection
  • Work with stakeholders to validate/test subset of model(s) and obtain approval for models that achieve specified business goals
  • Report analytical results in a variety of creative visual formats that appropriately provides insights to stakeholders
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in one or more Statistical Methods, such as machine learning, information retrieval, data mining, Text Mining, Natural Language Processing, Web Analytics or similar
  • Proven analytical skills to work through complex problems, manipulate and analyze large data sets, and produce actionable business insights
  • Expert proficiency in extracting and manipulating data using SQL, with a strong focus on data integrity and accuracy
  • Ability to independently learn new technologies and analytic methodologies
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to work with non-analytics stakeholders to translate ambiguous business requirements into robust analysis
  • Possess skills such as Analytical Model Design & Implementation, Visualization/Report Design & Implementation
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and execute work with minimal direction or supervision

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have advanced knowledge of SQL, analytics platforms such as PowerBI, Qlik or Tableau, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.  Functional knowledge of finance packages, HRIS, and CRM applications strongly preferred.
