Description:

Great benefits, beautiful offices and great people to work with! Growing downtown Dallas law firm is in need of a Paralegal to assist attorneys in various types of legal matters and provide assistance to the practice groups for trial preparation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for all phases of litigation support including discovery, research, hearings and trial preparation.
  • Manage the e-discovery and paper process for all phases of discovery and trial preparation, including coordination of electronic and paper discovery, depositions, transcripts and trial support.
  • Create, organize and maintain databases, privilege logs and files containing discovery documents, physical evidence, summaries, deposition transcripts etc.
  • Research all case documents, materials, rules and court procedure and prior testimony and publications of opposing experts; analyze, summarize and compile timelines and reports regarding findings.
  • Obtain all necessary information and materials from vendors, clients and government agencies; conduct legal research, utilizing internet sources, Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, etc..
  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of briefs and legal documents; draft routine filings; compile appendices and exhibits; prepare and submit electronic court filings.
  • Manage all trial preparation and support activity: manage trial exhibits; prepare trial notebooks; maintain expert binders; work room set up; communicate with experts and fact witnesses etc.
  • Other function as required.

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Candidate must have recent experience working with any of the following: Summation, Viewpoint, DISCO, or Relativity

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 5 years of paralegal experience
  • Ability to efficiently gather, maintain and organize information and volumes of documentation
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys and management and external clients of the firm.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make independent decisions regarding daily work.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
