We are working with our global client partner located in Houston, TX that is in need of a Travel Analyst with global experience.  The right individual will have a strong understanding of the Global Business Travel marketplace, including identifying opportunities for adopting best in class approaches to solve existing travel needs and predicting future challenges.  Five (plus) years experience in travel operations required.   

Role description:

  • Provide insight into best practices and make recommendations to optimize the travel agency scope of work, service delivery configuration and compensation model.  Identify opportunities for adopting best in class approaches to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges.   
  • Provide consulting services in the development of selection criteria and evaluation methodology to create, issue, and evaluate a formal travel agency request for proposal.   Optimize travel agency costs while ensuring effective support and delivering an enhanced user experience
  • Responsible for collecting regular feedback from stakeholders to inform the project roadmap.  Ensure travel agency service offerings match the business needs. 
  • Collaborate closely with the project team to align travel agency service delivery decisions with overall Company and Category goals.   Partner with project team to identify and manage Category dependencies.  Assist in prioritization/phasing of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for aligning the roll-out strategy with the operational teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage communication plans supporting the project; including, but not limited to, status reporting, management of issues and risks.  Communicate program status, metrics, and goals regularly and clearly with stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the Global Business Travel marketplace, including working knowledge of business travel service delivery. 
  • 5 – 10 years Travel Operations / Travel Agency Sales / Travel Consulting experience desired.
  • High degree of competency with project management including: project planning, issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status.
  • Experience in developing and executing supplier sourcing strategies, including the development, execution and evaluation of requests for proposal.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally in a global, multicultural environment to drive the implementation of new features as well as resolve operational issues
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills, combined with a high level of initiative and ability to thrive in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.  Flexible, able to meet changing requirements and priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including process flowcharting, formal business solutions documents, executive presentations.  Detail-oriented, yet able to simplify complex concepts into layman’s terms for greater understanding.
  • Creative problem solver - able to challenge and propose solutions which challenge the status quo.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
