5 Full-Time Jobs Parents Can Do from Home

As a parent, you need to balance your career with your family, and working from home is the perfect way to do this. While some people think flexible jobs with work-from-home policies don’t require much effort, you can launch a full career without ever leaving the house – other than the interview, of course! Check out these five jobs that any parent who wants to work from home should look into.

1. Virtual assistant
Have you ever wanted your own secretary to take care of your laundry, buy your groceries and make sure important packages are delivered on time? Plenty of other people feel the same thing, and with a computer and a phone, you can work as someone’s personal assistant by ordering products online and calling people to schedule appointments.

2. Bilingual customer service assistant
Bilingual, trilingual – it doesn’t matter. As long as you fluently speak a language other than English, chances are that you can work from home as a bilingual telephone- and computer-based customer service assistant. Whether people email, chat or call you with their problems, you can talk them through solutions from the comfort of your home.

3. Systems administrator
If you have a background in information technology and have monitored a company-wide network before having kids, you might still be able to do the job from home. All you need is external access to your company’s server and network. Co-workers can call or email their problems for you to take care of.

4. Quality control associate
If you’re looking for employment that involves proofreading and stress-testing products before they go live to clients or customers, this might be the job for you.

5. Chief executive officer
If you’ve built your own company from the ground up, don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do – work from home whenever you want!
