What Makes a Company a Best Place to Work? And Why Does It Matter?

Best Place to Work29%...The national average of employees engaged in the workplace.

Last week Corps Team was recognized by Staffing Industry Analyst as one of the best staffing firms to work for (Woohoo!). The anonymous survey measured engagement in six key areas:

  • Communication and resources
  • Individual needs
  • Manager effectiveness
  • Personal engagement
  • Team dynamics
  • Trust in leadership

90%...the percentage of engaged employees working at Corps Team.

They say employees don’t leave companies, they leave people. According to the 2016 Bureau of Labor Statistics study, the average employee stays at a job for 4.2 years (and the average woman stays just 4 years). Corps Team staff is made up of over 90% women, and the average employee tenure is 6.1 years.

What is it about working for Corps Team that makes it a best place to work? Why do the employees stay? Since everyone works virtually; it isn’t because there is a movie theater or pool table in the office (although some may them), or that they have a kitchen stocked with ready to eat foods.

Below are some quotes taken from the surveys about what employees had to say about working at Corps Team:

“Great flexibility!”

“They know the meaning of work life balance and encourage you to spend time with your family after hours – not respond to emails.”

 “They don’t micro-manage my time.”

Corps Team founder and CEO, Allison O’Kelly leads by example. Staff is trusted. They are not evaluated on when, where or how they work – but on their results (or productivity), and if they’re meeting their objectives.

“I feel trusted and respected as one of them, not just someone that works for them.”

“I actually enjoy the work I do.”

At Corps Team employees are valued. Each one a key piece of the Corps Team puzzle. Better together. Helping to make a difference in the lives of others and delivering exceptional results.

Studies show that companies with engaged employees outperform those without by over 200% [Dale Carnegie]. Employee engagement isn’t just about making employees feel good. It spills over to how the clients and candidates are treated and a company’s bottom line.
