Mom Corps Chicago President, Leanne Berry shares her personal story of seeking flexibility as a working parent and how it inspired her to launch Mom Corps Chicago.
Leanne Berry had planned to, well, have it all.
“I’m a CPA by trade and I had always thought, ‘I’m going to climb the corporate ladder, and I’m going to have six kids, and I’m going to be, you know, cooking coq au vin‘ — I thought I was going to do all this stuff,” she said, laughing at the memory. “Then I had my first child, and two years later, I had twins.”
That’s when her having-it-all vision began to shift. Suddenly, she was a stressed-out working mom facing a common frustration: “I just couldn’t keep up. I just felt like I couldn’t give 100 percent at work and 100 percent at home.”
